Scenario #1: Ripley Repeater - Normal Use
Bill and Ted are both located near Ripley. They both use the Ripley channel. Their QSO is not heard on the Kenna repeater.
Scenario #2: Kenna Repeater - Normal Use
Joe and Sam are both located in Southern Jackson County, out of range of the Ripley repeater. They both use the Kenna channel. Their QSO is not heard on the Ripley repeater.
Scenario #3: Join Kenna QSO via Ripley Repeater
Bill is located near Ripley. He can hear Joe and Sam's QSO on his handheld transceiver. His signal is too weak to reach the Kenna repeater. Bill activates his HT's dual receive feature. He sets chan A to the Kenna channel. He sets chan B to the Ripley-To-Kenna channel. He transmits on the B channel. All three can hear each other on the 443.725 frequency.
Scenario
#4: Join Ripley QSO via Kenna
Repeater
Sam is located near Kenna. He can hear Bill and Ted's QSO on his handheld transceiver. His signal is too weak to reach the Ripley repeater. Sam activates his HT's dual receive feature. He sets chan A to the Ripley channel. He sets chan B to the Kenna-To-Ripley channel. He transmits on the B channel. All three can hear each other on the 146.670 frequency.
Scenario #5: Ripley ↔ Kenna via both Repeaters
Joe is located in Southern Jackson County. Ted is located near Ripley. They can have a QSO via this setup: Joe selects the Kenna-To-Ripley channel. Ted selects the Ripley-To-Kenna channel. The dual receive feature is not needed.
